The Russian president named fixing ties with the US as among the country\u2019s national interests<\/strong><\/p>\n There’s “no reason”<\/em> for the US and Russia not being “great trade partners,”<\/em> US Representative Anna Paulina Luna has said.<\/p>\n The Florida Republican responded to remarks made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech and comments to the Valdai forum on Thursday.<\/p>\n During an almost four-hour appearance at the event, the Russian leader said that the “restoration of full-fledged relations with the US”<\/em> corresponded with the country’s “national interests.”<\/em> <\/p>\n Luna, who serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, reposted the respective excerpt from Putin’s speech on her official X account, agreeing with the Russian leader that Moscow and Washington should indeed mend their ties. <\/p>\n “This needs to happen. There is no reason why we can’t be great trade partners with Russia,”<\/em> the congresswoman wrote<\/a>. <\/p>\n
